Five reasons to keep it short

We love novels, poems, memoirs and wonderfully odd books that defy a label. But we believe short stories are the greatest storytelling medium in the world. Yes, we’re biased.

1. Big feelings. Brief encounter.

   A great short story can make an ordinary moment unforgettable. Every detail counts, and a few pages can hold a whole world.

2. Finish a story, not just a chapter.

   Sometimes you want the satisfaction of a complete journey. A beginning, a discovery, a last line that lands.

3. Meet a writer you’ve never read.

   New authors. Unfamiliar voices. Unexpected worlds. Curiosity is all you need.

4. Fit a little wonder into a busy day.

   Reading shouldn’t have to wait for a quieter week. Between work, errands and everything else, there can still be room for a story.

5. Keep thinking long after the last line.

   Short on pages doesn’t mean short on possibilities. The best stories leave you with something to argue about, laugh over, or see differently.
